The staff was amazing! So thoughtful! Any problems we faced, they went out of their way to provide a solution to the same. From the check-in experience (manager Mr. Shaktivel), to the housekeeping (Mr. Sandeep and Boopathy), to the guest-experience staff (Mr. Firoz and Ms. Archana), to the restaurant staff (Mr. Aryan Ganguly) - they were all brilliant. The location is very convenient. For first time drivers, the ghat section can be little tense with the tight hair pin bends, and arriving at this location on the last hair-pin bend is a welcome relief. Guests are greeted with a delicious and refreshing drink - Sukku Coffee, and then shown to their room. We had the Trails view room on the ground floor with a wonderful view of the mountainside. In the evenings, tea, coffee and snacks are complimentary, and they can be enjoyed on the beautiful sky deck, with the amazing views of Salem City, above the clouds. Later in the evening, there was a bonfire with professional dance instructors and fun games. A buffet breakfast is included in the stay, and we indulged in great South Indian food with tea and coffee, as well as thick toast with lots of butter :). The live egg counter can be given a miss. The hotel is just a couple of kilometers from the lake and the surrounding city center. The 32 km loop road starts and ends at the lake, and we took the beautiful drive on that. All in all, the stay was amazing, and the staff was brilliant!!

The room was modern, well-furnished, and comfortable, and had an amazing view. The bed allowed me to have a good night's sleep, and breakfast was satisfying. I was also impressed with the strong Wi-fi network, which was pretty bad during my stays at other Yercaud hotels. Great Trails Yercaud Hotel is like an oasis in the sky. The elevated setting and architecture of this well-maintained complex is enchanting, the photos not doing it justice. I really liked the setout of the room (valley view) and it was lovely sitting out on the balcony above the clouds looking onto the scenery far below. While we skipped dinner, the breakfast and lunch options were tasty - fresh with lots of variety. The dining room was an experience in itself, with views of the valley and trees. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a lot of attention to detail so as to ensure our comfort. The hotel put on many events and were evidently family and dog-friendly with even a special play area for the dogs. We enjoyed the free tiffin in the afternoons at 4pm again with breathtaking views. Overall a really good experience and we would come again.

The location of the hotel is fantastic - the first property on the 21st bend as you go up the Yercaud drive with beautiful view of the lake from the top, Restaurants have an excellent choice of the menu - the best being the south Indian facilities with a provision for other varieties. The staff is extremely customer friendly and are prompt on the service in spite of the weekend rush which sees the occupancy at full capacity. Great place for a short break in the midst of nature. The resort also has excellent options for indoor recreation for kids/children and an even better option for outdoor - including zipline, box cricket and a nature trail organized by the experts.
